Alex von Elzer is a componist, producer and artist writing ambient (dark and epic), rock and electronic and sometimes experimental music.

“My interest in making music started in 1975 when I was 16 year old. There were a lot of (hard) rock bands in these days. I decided I wanted to learn to play the guitar and shortly after, I started my first band called “Electric Brain”. Of course, it sounded terrible in the beginning. After a few years and a number of band members later we had gotten pretty good at making music but for some strange reason I ended up playing bass guitar. We changed our name into “Pentagon” and we almost became famous in our neighbourhood. In 1985 it was time for us to start making a decent living and we’d all go our separate ways. Hugh Mistake.
In 2004 I took early retirement and started writing music. Initially on my own and later together with other writers and musicians. This was how I met Korine Varekamp in 2008. Since then we have been writing songs together, for her band Kae as well as for our joint projects including K & Von Elzer.”
